Meet the Team

The CHANCE team is comprised of David M. Cognetti, MD, Joseph M. Curry, MD and Adam J. Luginbuhl, MD of Jefferson's Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, along with residents, medical students, nurses, and anesthetists.

David M. Cognetti, MD
Co-Director, Jefferson Center for Head and Neck Surgery

Dr. Cognetti is a board-certified Otolaryngologist who completed fellowship training in advanced head and neck oncologic surgery. He specializes in the care of patients with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, with an interest in minimally invasive surgical approaches and new technologies.

Dr. Cognetti initiated programs at Jefferson in Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) as well as in sialendoscopy, both of which are innovative technologies that eliminate the need for open surgery. Both programs were the earliest of their kind in the U.S. and are currently among the busiest in the country.


Joseph Curry, MD

Joseph M. Curry, MD
Associate Professor, Thomas Jefferson University

Dr. Curry is a board-certified Otolaryngologist who completed fellowship training in advanced head and neck oncologic surgery. He specializes in the care of patients with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck. His pioneering study of treatments for head and neck cancers shows great promise, and he has been recognized by the American Head and Neck Society with the Young Investigator Award.


Adam Luginbuhl, MD

Adam J. Luginbuhl, MD
Associate Professor, Thomas Jefferson University

Dr. Luginbuhl is a board-certified Otolaryngologist who completed fellowship training in advanced head and neck oncologic surgery. He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of cancer patients and is researching promising new immunotherapies. He is currently the lead investigator on a clinical trial that looks at how immunotherapy can help fight cancer.
