SonoScape Donates New Ultrasound Machines
On October 19, 2017, SonoScape Medical Corp., a medical technology company based in Shenzhen, China, donated two new ultrasound machines—together valued at $360,000—to Jefferson’s Department of Radiology.
SonoScape is a major supporter of ultrasound research and education at Jefferson, which has been a leader in the use of the imaging modality. Radiologists at Jefferson have pioneered the clinical understanding of ultrasound and continue to discover ways of employing it, including new therapeutic procedures that take advantage of the noninvasive sound waves these machines emit.
For many years, the Department has hosted Chinese physicians for continuing education, training them in advanced applications for ultrasound, as well as enabling the visiting scholars to conduct research of their own.
