Talking With Dr. Klasko
“My bias is that we talk about the wrong things”
From the way medical students are selected and trained to how policy debates are framed, healthcare needs an overhaul, says Stephen Klasko, MD, MBA. The CEO of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health speaks passionately about his belief that disruption will be the key differentiator between provider organizations that survive and those that don’t.
Under Klasko’s leadership, Jefferson has grown from a three-hospital academic medical center to a 13-hospital system with $5 billion in annual revenue. He has spurred Jefferson to embark on unique affiliations, including recently with Philadelphia University, a leading fashion and design school. Klasko recently met with Modern Healthcare’s editorial board to answer a few questions. For the transcript of the interview, click here.
