Research

Moving discoveries from bench to bedside

The Korman Institute is home to a collaborative, translational research model that pairs basic scientists with clinical teams to ask the right questions and move discoveries quickly from bench to bedside.

Our world-class researchers are pursuing bold new avenues of study, including genetic determinants of airways disease, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, lung inflammation, tobacco-related disorders, and lung development. They are exploring the molecular mechanisms that underpin pulmonary disorders in order to identify pathways for intervention, armed with the latest techniques, diagnostics, and disease models—and with the support of talented collaborators.
