Annual Sigma Xi Research Day

Each Spring, Thomas Jefferson University Chapter of Sigma Xi organizes Student Research Day. The main focus of this day is poster presentations by undergraduate, graduate and medical students. The poster session offers students the opportunity for winning prizes, catching up on current discoveries in one's field, learning a new area of research, developing good verbal skills and networking.

This year the TJU Sigma Xi Student Research Day will be held on Tuesday, April 10th, 2018.

We encourage you to submit posters of your research. Follow this link to submit an abstract.

The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, March 12th, 2018. Abstract submission started online on February 1, 2018.

Note that each student can only present one poster, and each poster can only be presented by one student who should also be the first author of that poster. Students can be co-authors on more than one poster, but can only present the poster they are the first author on.

Poster presentations will be judged by TJU scientists and cash prizes will be awarded for the best poster presentation in each research category, including the undergraduate student category.

The poster session will be followed by the William Potter Lecture given by Dr. Leroy Hood, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Strategic Officer, Co-founder and Professor, Institute for Systems Biology; SVP and Chief Science Officer, Providence St. Joseph Health.
Students and their advisors are cordially invited to the reception at the conclusion of the awards ceremony. Students need to be present for the awards ceremony in order to be eligible for the monetary portion of the prizes.
