Jefferson School of Health Professions Signs Exchange Agreement with Kitasato University
The Jefferson School of Health Professions welcomed colleagues from Kitasato University’s School of Allied Health Sciences for the signing of a memorandum of understanding which continues a long-standing exchange program between the schools. The new memorandum covers the entire School of Health Professions at Jefferson and encompasses possibilities for a longer duration of exchange.
The goal of the exchange is to promote mutual understanding and friendship, to promote cooperation and progression in the education and research of health sciences at Kitasato University and Thomas Jefferson University. Over 100 students have participated in this interprofessional, international exchange since 1997.
Jefferson’s Department of Bioscience Technologies and Kitasato University's School of Medicine first collaborated in 1992. In 2005, the program expanded to include Jefferson School of Health Professions Departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Radiologic Sciences.
