Student Organization Awards

The Student Organization Awards and Recognition Dinner is an annual event to honor YOU, our student organization leaders, who work tirelessly each year to contribute to the Jefferson community through a variety of events hosted by your organizations. OSLE presents 4 total awards to 5 or more organizations each year. Each winning organization will receive a prize in the form of a deposit to their agency account ranging from $100.00 to $250.00 along with a framed certificate of accomplishment. All awards are self-nominating so be sure to fill out an application for any and all relevant events you believe are worthy!

Please also submit any photos you have from student organization events to studentlife@jefferson.edu with the name of the hosting organization(s) and date of event so that we can highlight them in a slidewhow during dinner. Submissions must be made by 8:00am Monday, April 2nd in order to be included. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING AWARD ELIGIBILITY

When filling out an application, please only include information on the student organization's event that occurred sometime during the period of September 1, 2017 - April 6, 2018.

In order to be eligible for the award, event must be registered with the Office of Student Life and Engagement and granted a status of "Approved"

In order to be eligible for the award, applications must be submitted in their entirety by Sunday, April 8th 2018 at 11:59:00PM.

This award is presented to a single student organization in recognition of their community service efforts during the period of September 1, 2017- April 6, 2108.

The award will be given based upon overall benefit to the community including the following criteria

  • Impact of community service (what was accomplished / what was the outcome)
  • Organization(s) or Populations Served
  • Type of service (e.g. one-time or recurring, volunteer work or monetary donation, etc.)
  • Involvement of student organization members (how many individuals participated, how often, total number of hours served, etc.)

This award is presented to a single student organization in recognition of an outstanding event held during the academic year.

The award will be given based upon the following criteria for an event that took place sometime during the period of September 1, 2017- April 6, 2108.

  • Impact of event (what was accomplished / what was the outcome)
  • Event’s contribution to the University / enhancement of the student experience
  • Involvement of student organization members in the planning and implementation of the event
  • Event reflects Jefferson’s values (iSCORE)
    • Innovation
    • Service Excellence
    • Collaboration
    • Ownership
    • Respect
    • Empowerment

This award is presented jointly to two or more student organizations for their collaborative effort on an event or initiative during the academic year.

The award will be given based upon the following criteria for an event that took place sometime during the period of September 1, 2017- April 6, 2108.

  • Impact of event or initiative (what was accomplished / what was the outcome)
  • Event’s or initiative’s contribution to the University / enhancement of the student experience
  • Collaboration (as demonstrated by the active involvement of members from each student organization in the planning and implementation of the event or initiative)
  • Event or initiative reflects Jefferson’s values (iSCORE)
    • Innovation
    • Service Excellence
    • Collaboration
    • Ownership
    • Respect
    • Empowerment

This award is presented to a single student organization in recognition of their overall accomplishments and outstanding effort during the 2017-18 academic year.

The award will be given based upon the student organization’s overall efforts during the period of September 1, 2017- April 6, 2018, including the following criteria

  • Impact of the student organization (how has the activity of the student organization related to the student organization’s purpose, what were the goals for this year, and what was accomplished)
  • Level of activity (frequency and type – e.g. monthly meetings, two events a year, etc.)
  • Contribution to the University / enhancement of the student experience
  • Contribution to the community
  • Involvement of student organization members (in the planning and implementation of events or initiatives, in regular meetings, in the day to day organization activities, and in contributing to the success of the student organization)
  • Student organization and their activities reflect Jefferson’s values (iSCORE)
