Spread the Love
My husband, John, and I have so many fond memories of our time at Jefferson. After all, we first met on Jefferson’s campus back in 1968 when we were both working part-time jobs at Philadelphia hospital to help pay for school. In a year’s time, we went from being work friends to newlyweds. We’ve since shared a lifetime of treasured memories. Many of which always brings us back to Jefferson, the place where we first fell in love and gained an education that helped shape the rest of our lives.
My husband and I have established the Springer-Zeok Scholarship at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, in celebration of our 50th Jefferson class reunions and our 50th wedding anniversary. This scholarship helps students defray the costs of tuition.
There is no doubt in our minds that Jefferson is the reason my husband and I were able to lead successful careers and lives. So when it came time ways to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and the 50th anniversary of our graduations from Jefferson, we thought there was no better way to honor the moment than to pay forward the support we received as students and residents to help future Jefferson physicians excel.
My husband and I both have our mantras that we share with students who ask for our advice. We tell them, take care of one another; treat people how you want to be treated. We try to live that advice by supporting students and our alma maters whenever we can. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and this season of love, please consider making a gift to support medical college students at Jefferson.
Thank you in advance for your love and kindness toward Jefferson students.
