Jefferson Health recently announced a transformative gift from longtime philanthropists Bruce and Judi Goodman to name the Goodman Emergency Trauma Center at Jefferson Abington Hospital. The gift will serve as the cornerstone of a fundraising campaign to modernize and expand the hospital’s emergency department.
Expanding Emergency Care at Jefferson Abington Hospital

The modernization and expansion of the Goodman Emergency Trauma Center will increase our emergency department bed capacity, upgrade public and clinical areas, improve admission and treatment times, and create a more personalized patient experience. As one of only two Level II trauma centers in Montgomery County, increasing our capacity is essential to accommodate a growing patient base.
The renewed Goodman ETC will be a key differentiator for our campus, bringing modern medical advances into the Abington community and improving the overall patient experience.
Patient-Focused Improvements
Guided by a people-centered approach, the renovation of the new Goodman ETC is more than a physical upgrade, it is a recalibration of the entire emergency care experience with a redesigned entry, new reception and waiting areas, and enhanced clinical spaces.
