In 2023, Martin H. Feldman, MD ’66, and his wife, Lynne Gold-Bikin, Esq., made a lasting contribution to Jefferson’s campus and culture by donating their extensive collection of antique medical instruments. The Martin H. Feldman, MD Antique Medical Instruments Collection, now housed in the Eakins Gallery of Alumni Hall, offers a unique lens into the evolution of the medical profession.
Featuring over 120 rare artifacts, the collection includes remarkable pieces such as a medicine chest from the Battle of Bunker Hill, a handmade Laennec stethoscope, and an 1884 Jefferson prize awarded to a top student in Materia Medica and Therapeutics. The Feldman’s donation bridges past and present, inviting students, faculty, and visitors to reflect on the long arc of innovation in healthcare.
Their generosity preserves not just objects but stories that continue to inspire the Jefferson community.
