Honoring the Past, Investing in the Future: The Zeoks’ Enduring Commitment

Back in 2017, Suzanne Springer Zeok, MD ’69, and John V. Zeok, MD ’67, marked a special milestone, their 50th wedding anniversary and the 50th anniversary of their Jefferson graduations. To celebrate, they chose to give back in a meaningful way: by establishing the Springer-Zeok Scholarship to support future generations of Jefferson physicians.
Their gift was part of the Reimagine Scholarship initiative, which launched as a way to help students facing financial pressures in a post-recession and post-COVID world. The initiative built on a proud legacy of Jefferson alumni stepping up in times of need, a tradition dating back to the Great Depression.
By the 2016–2017 academic year, the campaign had raised nearly $2 million for SKMC scholarships, with the Zeoks among the generous alumni whose gifts created new endowed funds and renewed hope for future medical students.
“We thought there was no better way to honor the moment than to pay forward the support we received as students and residents to help future Jefferson physicians excel,” Suzanne shared at the time.
