Scholarship Supports Medical School Dreams of Black Males

 1 min read

As we celebrate Black History Month and the contributions of African Americans to this country, Jefferson is reinforcing its commitment to improving the diversity of our student body, faculty, and staff.

Part of our promise to provide access to education is to increase the availability of scholarship dollars for African American males, who are underrepresented in medicine.

The Jackson-Minton Scholarship Fund, established in 2016 in collaboration with the Alpha Boulé of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, provides the opportunity for African American males to realize their dream of becoming physicians, regardless of their financial situation. We are proud to call the Sigma Pi Phi founders, Drs. Algernon Brashear Jackson and Henry McKee Minton, Jefferson alumni.

We hope you will support the Jackson-Minton scholarship program at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
