Lynne and Harold Honickman Establish Professorship in Neurology

In March 2014, longtime Jefferson friends Lynne and Harold Honickman established the Lynne and Harold Honickman Professorship in Neurology, which will promote clinical care and research in the field of neurology, vascular neurology and stroke.

Rodney D. Bell, MD, professor of neurology, will be invested as the first Lynne and Harold Honickman Professor of Neurology at a ceremony on June 11, 2014.

The Honickmans have a long tradition of supporting Jefferson, including serving as chairs for the Jefferson Awards Gala. Harold also serves as a member of the board of trustees for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Lynne is a member of the advisory board for the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine.

This professorship recognizes a rich tradition of excellence in Jefferson’s Department of Neurology, which was the first neurology department established at a medical college in the United States.
